Business School Held Beijing International Consumption Center City Construction Summit Forum

The construction of international consumption center cities is the key task of Beijing's 14th Five-year Plan. In order to strengthen research and exchange, the Beijing International Consumption Center City Construction Summit Forum initiated by the Business School was held on February 5, 2021. Huang Xiankai, Secretary of the School Committee, delivered a speech at the forum while Fu Longcheng, Vice President of China Business Federation, and 10 other experts, scholars, and industry insiders delivered keynote speeches. They put forward constructive suggestions for cultivating and building Beijing as an international consumption center city. The forum was hosted by Mao Xinshu, President of the Business School.


In his speech, Party Secretary Huang Xiankai, on behalf of the University, expressed his appreciation to the leaders and experts present for their support, introduced the historical background and significance of the construction of international consumption center cities, and put forward hope for further research. It is hoped that all experts will exchange experience and contribute to the construction of Beijing as an international consumption center city.


On behalf of the research team, Professor Liu Wengang of the Business School of Beijing Technology and Business University reported the preliminary research achievements of the construction of international consumption center cities.


Fu Longcheng, Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce, congratulated BTBU on holding the forum, appreciated the preliminary research report of the school, and introduced the background and connotations of the international consumption center city.


Subsequently, the participating experts put forward constructive suggestions on how to implement the Implementation Plan for Beijing to Cultivate and Build an International Consumption Center City, strengthen the construction of Beijing international consumption center city and related research. Experts participating in the seminar included: Li Zhiqi, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairman of the Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce; Fu Yuehong, President of the Beijing Federation of Commerce and former Chairman of Beijing Capital Retailing Group Co.,Ltd.; Wang Yonggui, Vice President of the Capital University of Economics and Business; Fu Guoqun, Professor of Guanghua School of Management of Peking University; Yi Shaohua, Director of the Market Circulation and Consumption Research Office of the Institute of Financial Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Zhang Mingyu, Professor of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University; Wang Xuhui, Professor of the School of Business Administration of Northeast University of Finance and Economics, Lu Kuan, Senior Vice President of BOE technology group; and others.


The meeting was held online and offline. More than 90 experts, teachers, and students attended the forum. The forum summarized the research achievements of the Business School in the construction of Beijing international consumption center city in the early stage, exchanged the related research measures and achievements of industries; enterprises, and other universities; condensed the direction; and put forward suggestions on how to cultivate and build Beijing international consumption center city in the next steps.
